Pip medical next week was created by Louise
Hello everyone,
I joined this site the other day. I've been a member before and it helped. I have my PIP medical next Wednesday at home. I wasn't offered a home visit like before I had to get my GP to request one which cost me £17.50.
My question is I will be alone this time as all my friends and family are working. Will this go against me in any way? My partner opened the door to the lady in my first medical which I was awarded standard rate daily care no mobility. I just feel they will be observing me in some way. Somebody suggested leaning the front door open for her to come in and shout her in? Is this a good or bad idea?
I have fibromyalgia, hypermobility, anixiety and depression amongst other illnesses. I am dreading it as I feel this time it's going to be so much harder even though my condition has worsened and my mental health is in awful state right now I'm under mental health team.
Is there any advice anybody could give me on the type of questions they are likely to ask and last time I was told I couldn't refer to my medical papers I filled in and copied but have since been told by CAB I can ? If you could direct me to info on this site where I could find guides on how to prepare I'd be very grateful.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It will depend on your conditions and how they manifest themselves. For example, if your anxiety causes you issues with Social Anxiety then your being on your own for the assessment will not help your claim.
I think leaving the front door open and shouting them in is a bad idea, even if you have problems with walking, you should go to the door and check their identification documents before you allow them in.
The PIP Claim guides has a section at the back that covers the assessment and the questions you will be asked.
Good luck.
