Sorry if this has already been asked, I did a search but couldn't find.

I am currently getting ESA in my name but for myself and my partner and I have been put in the support group. I also get PIP standard rate care and enhanced rate mobility.

Myself and my partner have recently decided to separate and I will be moving out to live closer to my family because I need some support.

My question is, I realise that I need to contact DWP but how will this affect my benefits when I tell them I want to remove my partner from my claim? Apart from my address and relationship status my condition will be the same. Will I still have to fill in more forms and will I also have to attend another assessment?

I hope someone can help me with this as it is causing me a lot of anxiety and sleepless nights. :S

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

It won't result in a reassessment of your claim, but you will likely need to complete an ESA3 to assess your financial situation.

There's an example form on the following link

Hi Gordon

Thank you for your reply and for the links.

I've had a brief look at the ESA3 and all the questions seem to relate to making a new claim.
It does seem like a rather long form just to tell them I've separated and changed my address! But if that's what I have to do.

Thanks again.

They will need to understand what your financial situation will be without your partner as part of the claim.
