MH- Planning and following a journey was created by Orangeblossom
Since 2014, and on renewal I have been given 4 points for this descriptor on MH grounds. I see there is a new update to this.
Does this mean when it is next renewed if I still qualify for this I'll get more points and a mobility award? Thanks.

Only if you are able to show that you meet the criteria for an award. The change in guidance acknowledges that there other ways that a claimant can show that they meet the criteria, whether they can or not is another matter.

Only if you are able to show that you meet the criteria for an award. The change in guidance acknowledges that there other ways that a claimant can show that they meet the criteria, whether they can or not is another matter.

Do you mean that as it would still take 8 points to qualify, I'd need to meet a further criteria such as having someone with me at all times?

OK I see. Can I ask what it means by a journey, as it doesn;t seem to say in the higher descriptions.
What if someone needed someone with them on unfamiliar journeys for example, but were Ok with familiar routes? Thanks.

Sorry!- I read it wrong, it does state about an unfamiliar journey and needing support with that. I think that would be the one.
The assessor has not really discussed with me in the past (on my one home visit) this descriptor as she said 'it;s a tricky one' and just left it at 4 points. She didn't ask about someone supporting me.
So- with the new renewal forms what would you do about this? I suppose you would tick it had changed and write about this new area of needing support on unfamiliar journeys? How would you explain it hadn't been covered properly in the past? Is there space to write some examples of this I wonder.
In the meantime, if the award is not due for renew until two years i suppose it would trigger a complete reassessment if you asked for it to be looked at again straight away?
