Hi, what health conditions/illnesses qualify for PIP Home Assessment?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Ed,
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
As far as I am aware, there are no conditions that automatically confer the right to a home assessment. Whether a face2face is needed, and where it should be held, will be decided by the assessor who looks at the claim.
Any request for a home visit is unlikely to be successful unless it is backed up by a letter from your GP, explaining why you would be unable to attend an assessment centre.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too

Hi there, thank you for the info... it has taken until now to find (your) reply by chance - not the site fault, just me.
In any event, have not asked/requested for a home assessment and neither has GP, but home assessment has been given . But paranoid and extremely anxious of strangers coming into the home. And do not know if it will go against one, if one then requests a change of home assessment to a f2f centre assessment?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks

You can request an assessment at their offices, be aware that doing so will use your one opportunity to change the appointment, so have your diary ready so you can arrange a new one when you ring.
Also, how you get to and from their offices will be considered as part of the assessment, so you need to consider whether this will cause you more issues than your leaving the appointment as it is.
