Hi - I returned my claim form (DLA to PIP) just over two weeks ago. I've been receiving DLA, an 'indefinite' award since 1993 - low rate care and high rate mobility. I was placed in ESA support group in 2012. I have now received a letter from my local jobcentre to attend a meeting to "check my personal information to make sure I'm receiving the correct benefits". They are asking me to bring statements for all bank accounts (current and savings) for myself and my partner, plus pension payment slips, details of any investments, etc. I am not on any means tested benefits. The letter reads like they want to see all my husband's financial details as well. Does this mean his independent accounts, not just joint accounts (we have three joint accounts)?? He's not happy about this. Neither of us have anything to hide, but feel this is a bit off. They have asked me to come into the local jobcentre, but bearing in mind I am receiving higher rate mobility DLA and am in the support group, I will be very fatigued after this and it will take me several days to recover. I'm not sure that it's a co-incidence that this letter has arrived just after my PIP claim went in. As we have nothing to hide, would you advise going along with this? I'd be grateful for any advice.

If you and your Husband are not on any means tested benefits , I assume you are on Contribution Based ESA, Thers is no reason why you must submit your Husband's financial details.

The DWP tried this with my wife, they wanted details of my HM Forces pension. we pointed out that my pension is not relevent as I was not a Party to her ESA(C) award.

However if your total income as a couple is low it is possible that you may be entitled to some benefit . I suggest you use one of the online Benefit Checkers to see if you may qualify for benefit.
