Implications of being a new parent on PIP applicat was created by fanta
I've got to complete the application form 'how your disability affects you' to transfer from DLA to PIP.
I am currently on DLA HRM & LRC, and have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Type 3 & CFS/ME.
I have just given birth to our first child and am worried as to how to address this, and the difficulties that childcare brings, without the Decision Maker just assuming that, because I am caring for a baby, I have no care needs myself.
Any advice appreciated!

There are certainly implications from your having and caring from your baby, my best suggestion is for you to hit them head on so think of the things that you do for your baby in relation to your limitations in completing the PIP activities and explain why you still have problems and how you manage with your baby.
As an example which might be to early at the moment, if you can't prepare a meal for yourself but can for your baby, how do you manage this?

I had a home visit when I had a newborn a few years ago, it was for DLA though. The doctor who did the visit did say about me looking after my baby and I told her about the support I had daily with it from family. HTH
