Paper decision of interview for PIP?

My friend was in receipt of DLA, but when she had to apply for PIP her claim was dismissed. We took it to tribunal and they upheld the decision.

We are abou to make a new PIPclaim, but my friend struggles at the interviews. Her disability is mainly physical, but she gets very anxious and confused at the medicals. The last medical report was just a pack of lies, and she is getting stressed already about it.

I understand you can have a decision based on paperwork alone and wonder if this might be a better way forward for her.

Has anyone else gone down this route and can advise, please.

I'm afraid a Paper assessment is not something that the claimant has a choice over! One will only be carried out if the assessor believes that they can make a recommendation to the DWP without seeing the claimant, this will depend on the quality of the information contained in and with the new PIP2. The vast majority of new claims require a face to face.
