hi mrs hurtyback,
I also thought there could be a mess up aswell, son also got notification that his other benefits (jsa) is aslo being reduced so he is anxious about it all. what else can be done when ringing them? can they ask for more information after they have told you they had all they needed and does it make any difference we are in northern Ireland,
sorry to ask so much but I am bewildered with this
thanks

I would be very surprised if DWP wanted more information after the assessor had made a recommendation - the Decision Makers have no medical knowledge.

If asking what is happening does not get any sensible answer, the only other thing I can suggest is to get your MP involved.

Contacting your MP

one more question if I may, in the letter to say that they cant award my son pip should there have been any other information in it such as what points he did or did not receive at assessment, as all the letter states is they cant award pip
thanks

I suspect that this is not, directly, related to the assessment and points awarded and more of a procedural issue (but I don't know what that might be).

hi mrs hurtback, again my thanks for swift reply, well I am baffled as to whats going on but will probably be back soon for more advice,

when I ring I will ask for the assessment report also.

I would just like to say thanks again, this is the first time I have used this site but I must say it seems to be of great help to all who use it.

hi again
just a quick update, phoned pip today and was told that the letter stating that his pip would not be awarded because he failed to send further information should be disregarded as it was sent in error,
and that the person had just spoke with the DM and they had the file on their desk and would make a decision today. talk about making mistakes, it beggars belief how they can generate an error letter,
just have to await the decision now although we don't hold out much hope
thanks
