Hi
I've just had a letter to say I have been highlighted for a assessment for my esa, why have I been highlighted, what does that mean.
Also I put I can't manage stairs and they say they have a lift but in case of fire I must be able to make my own way unaided down the 18 steps.
I had a pip last year and got points for not being able to manage to walk far aided or UNaided.
Help.

It just means that they can't do a Paper assessment and need to see you.
If the appointment is at a site with stairs and you would have a problem with this then contact them and ask for the appointment to be moved to an office that is disabled friendly, remind them that this is their failure and not theirs so yo do not expect it to count against you.
Please be aware ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.
