PIP Face to Face-Assessing my appearance ?? was created by KEITH ASHWORTH
I have read your guides but I cant tell if,' when they assess you as being ' well turned out and clean' or words to that effect ,this is a disadvantage in scoring points and whether you're better looking scruffy to show you cant look after yourself, rather than making a natural respectful effort to look your best.
I cant see it should make any difference - but clearly it does, otherwise why are the assessors instructed to make such an observation?
Thanks

If you have issues with Bathing and Dressing then you should not make any special efforts for any assessment unless you would normally do this. If you do not have issues with these activities then it won't have any effect whether you turn up kempt or not.

Hi
My wife has trouble washing and dressing untill late morning unless I am able to assist. She had a f2f at 09:00 so woke up at 04:00 to take her pain meds. i helped her get dressed for the f2f so she was claen and tidy. Big mistake ! Do not make special effort for assessment, be your self

Having reread my decision letter where I scored zero points I noted that she stated I was well kempt it was obviously a mistake to make the effort with my appearance. I have multiple sclerosis. So they don't actually want you to be independent. That was my first mistake.
