Hi Everyone

I completed my PIP application in December and sent a quite a bit of medical evidence which I had obtained over the years. Despite clearly requesting a home medical due to my agoraphobia, medication effects and other health problems, I was hopeful I would get a home visit.
My son checked the mail today and there was a letter from Atos for a medical on February 15.
I can't believe they've done this to me. I went through hell and so much stress trying to complete the form in time, trying to get evidence together and have it sent over the Christmas holidays was truly th eworst experince I have been through in a while.
I spoke to my GP about the stress over this, as well as other things last year but he didn't really understand much. I have been so ill that I've not been able to get to see my GP let alone another doctor. My GP is only part time and not there often. Usually you have to wait more than a week before he can be seen.
Now my anxiety and panic attacks are in overdrive. I don't understand why they would ask me to attend knowing what I suffer with. I simply cannot go, while I understand it can be difficult time consuming to have a home visit for them, they've completely overlooked and ignored the fact that it is impossible for me.
My GP app is also on the 15, which he boooked as he knows I've been very ill over Christmas to present. They should not be allowed to cause us so much distress, worry, fear and anxiety.
Do you think it would be ok if I wrote a letter to the address on the medical letter explaining my situation again and asking for a home medical? There's no way to get a letter from my GP until I see him if I can get to see him.im so upset, it's hard enough living life suffering with all the things we do.

I'm afraid you won't get a home assessment without your GP providing a letter explaining why you cannot attend at their offices. You can try writing to them again, but I have to say that I am doubtful that it will make a difference.

Can you contact your surgery and ask for the letter? Could your GP phone you about the problem?

Thank you Gordon. I managed to get an appointment for tomorrow. He really doesn't like writing letters. My previous GP was wonderful and very helpful and als ways wrote letters when needed. This one just doesn't care. Is there a template or example letter I could show the doctor by any chance please? Thank you.
