I've just emailed Atos Pip customer service requesting a home visit and explaining what my GP wrote on the print out. Do you think that would be ok? My son will be home soon otherwise should I get him to post the copy of GP consultation or is the email enough? Thank you so much.

Sorry Gordon, I didn't realise. It was a link from the site though?

The email should be fine, but you will need to chase them, perhaps at the beginning of next week, to find out what they are going to do.

You still have the option of contacting your MP for assistance.

I'm so upset. My son just checked our malilbox and I had a letter from Atos. I can't stop crying. I emailed them and sent letter recorded delivery with a copy of the print out my GP gave.

The letter is from PIP client relations case officer. She explains the strict guidelines from DWP then goes on to say my form and evidence was reviewed on 18 January and was decided I would have assessment at medical centre. An appointment was made but I failed to turn up. And my application was returned to DWP on 16 February. If I would like to discuss the options that I would have to call DWP. And that she would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please help me. I cannot stop crying. I know I did not go to to the medical but I emailed them in afpdvance explaining my situation. I also sent the GOP letter which obviously wasn't enough. What am I going to do? I will never be able to manage now. Im so sorry for going on like a moany old cow.

You obviously did not attend the appointment, did you contact ATOS to say that you would not be able to attend?

You will have to wait for the DWP to contact you, they should write to you asking why you did not attend, I'm afraid there is a very good chance that they will close your claim and you will have to challenge this Decision through an MR and appeal.

I asked for home visit on similar grounds. My GP did a supporting letter that was completely ignored. My health deteriorated and I involved Citizens Advice, also got a second GP letter. These were all ignored which led to me contacting my MP and C Advice putting complaint in to Assessment Provider. PIP and ESA were home visits and horrendous. I was really ill at the time with MH and couldn't answer questions well as i struggle with people. Basically the PIP just used tick box and gave no points for MH, and ESA commented on how clean my home was. Very disappointed that MH sufferers are treat worse than ever
