The recorders you mention are likely to be the ones I used. The quality will be fine if you place them close to you and the assessor, ideally between you just off to one side. I had my assessment in a centre and my recorders were placed a couple of metres from where we were sat so I can hear the assessor clearly on the recording but my replies are less clear at times because I had my back to the recorders and I am fairly quiet when I speak. Test them before your appointment and work out a position that will work well.

I'd suggest getting back to the assessment provider and asking them to confirm with the assessor in advance of the appointment that they are willing to be recorded. I had several appointments cancelled at short notice because the assessor didn't want to be recorded even though I had stated from the beginning that I would be recording the assessment. If it's important to you the assessment provider should provide an assessor who is willing to be recorded. Saying that you can record if the assessor agrees isn't good enough - they know that a lot of them won't agree. You're likely to be very worried ahead of the assessment and if the assessor arrives and refuses to be recorded it will start the assessment off badly. My final appointment that went ahead was the only time they had checked with the assessor ahead of the appointment that they were willing to be recorded!
