Hello, my brother who has learning difficulties will be having an appointment with Atos Healthcare next week about his pip claim, do I request it be recorded like his Esa Interview was ?

The two Assessment Providers for PIP do not provide recording services, however you can record it your self. You still need to ask permission and you will need to be able to make two simultaneously recordings to tape or CD, you cannot make a digital recording.

Seems contrived to make it difficult for subjects to capture their own assessments. The providers could easily and at low cost bring a dual CD recorder.
Here are two cheap products which may be suitable. This first one received some negative reviews for poor functioning - it would be wise to test it properly prior to an assessment.

One of the reviewers wrote :
"Recording is poor with the internal microphone picking up background noise from the player. We wanted to use it at a PIP assessment interview and it just about managed (you will need two by the way). Easy to use though and for the price a fair buy."
Or there is this which is a bit more expensive, but has fewer negative reviews, and includes an MP3 encoding function which will be handy for digitising recordings.
