ESA (SG) just been reapproved. Now - DLA to PIP??

Having waited 2 months (over Xmas and New Year) for a decision on re-assessment .... a very frustrating/worrying time (you can never stop worrying regardless how strong you think you case is)!!

I am currently dealing with my 3rd cancer since 2010 (Anal, Bladder, and more recently Laryngeal), resulting in my voice box being removed last year. More recently they have been investigating reason why I have started collapsing/feinting .... return of childhood epilepsy; Low pressure; another unknown effect of long term HIV+ infection - 27 years.

Under such circumstances, is it worthwhile trying bringing forward the transfer from DLA to PIP? Is it possible to bring forward the transfer (while the fire is hot - so to speak).

Any idea when the transfers are scheduled for in the city centre of Manchester?

I'm afraid that the selection of claimants for the PIP transfer is random, we cannot give you any idea of when to expect the axe to fall.

It is certainly possible to trigger the switch to PIP yourself. I suggest you have a look at our PIP self-assessment and score yourself harshly (as DWP will). This should give you an idea of whether you might do better with PIP. Don't forget that PIP was deliberately made harder to get than DLA, so there are people who will miss out as a result of the switch.

PIP help for claimants

Once you have started a PIP claim there will be no going back to DLA, no matter what the outcome of the PIP claim.
