Cancelled medical

I'm spittin' feathers!!!!
My daughter got a letter out of the blue a few weeks ago informing her that she had to attend an ESA "medical" .

She suffers from a few medical problems and some mental ones too. She self-harms and has attempted suicide a few times.

Her partner took the day off work to take her and I drove the 100miles from where I live to be able to be able to give any information required about her early life and to support her.

I arrived at their house to pick them up and take them to the centre and was told that they had had a phone call ten minutes previously to say that the "medical" had been postponed and they would be informed when the rearranged "medical" would take place. If my daughter had rung them and postponed she would have have been told in no uncertain terms that she would lose her benefit if she missed the next one. (This happened a few years ago to her.)

Can her partner and I make any sort of claim concerning lost earnings and fuel costs?

Getting my daughter to go to such things takes a lot of persuasion and planning as it stresses her out that much that she self-harms etc.
We now have to go through the whole damned thing again!
