Should I start my application for ESA now or should I hang on until the end of March? My employer sent the SSP1 form yesterday.

The week left me suicidal, hearing voices and delusional. I cope pretty well when not working, but when I am around a lot of people I just do not cope.

You can't claim ESA until your SSP ceases, however, you can start the claim process 2 or 3 weeks in advance, to actually start the day after your SSP payments cease.

Do you mean the Severe Disability Premium? If so then you cannot do anything until your ESA Claim is accepted, then you need to request an IS10 form from the DWP. I assume that you will qualify for Income Related ESA and that you meet the criteria for the SD Premium.
