Tax Credits was created by mumsgirl
I have been a member for many years and very rarely ask questions, but I was wondering if people would be kind enough to tell me their thoughts about a letter I got today out of the blue from HMRC (even though its not about ESA or PIP) saying they want me to "consider if I am in a relationship" because I am claiming child tax credits as a single person and could be fined £3000 if I am found to be married, in a civil partnership, living with someone, or even if other people see you as a couple.
I am COMPLETELY single! I do not have a man in my life of any kind, not even as a friend, and have been single for many many years.
I write to ask - why do people think I received this letter? Do they send it out randomly to anyone and everyone, or has someone 'grassed' me? I am very upset at having received this letter as I am not a liar and have been completely honest while claiming the 'benefits' I am legally entitled to.
And should I write back to them and confirm I am single. And maybe even ask why they sent the letter in the first place?
Thank you everyone, I am so worried!

This is not an area of benefits that we cover on the forum, but I have seen numerous posts about this letter on other forums, although I thought that they had stopped sending these letters.

Do an internet search for "concentrix" for more information.
