PIP was created by Ms.Basset
Just received my letter to transfer over from DLA and wondered if anyone has been invited to do renewal over the phone?
It states that I may or may not be invited for medical assessment also. I'm not sure over the phone is a good thing for me, straight to form would be less of an anxiety issue. Advice and thoughts much appreciated.

Have a look at the PIP Claim guide which explains the process in more detail and has details of the initial call you need to make to start your PIP claim.

Hi, my son recently had a letter inviting him to apply for PIP having been on DLA. We had to call a telephone number and we were asked a few questions ( you will need some information to hand i.e. two people they might contact ) The list is in the initial letter the telephone call is not a full assessment more a gathering of some information. After the telephone call we were sent the big form to fill in so in theory you will still have a form to fill in. I was able to speak on my sons behalf, they spoke to him quickly first to get permission. Forms completed with the help of the B&W PIP guide, now we wait for the brown envelope. Ironically his ESA50 arrived at the same time so just doing that now.

How long free telephone conversation did the form arrive. How long to fill in the form?

The form usually arrives 5-10 days after the call. You will have four weeks to complete it although this also includes postage time at both ends. You can requests a two week extension if you need to.
