Motability - Most Win Wins for Govt?

- Claimant currently has DLA High Rate Component (Motability vehicle)
- Claims for PIP from DLA changeover
- DWP decide to refuse claim/li]
- Claimant has to decide whether grounds to appeal or just walk away
- If claimant decides that there's grounds to appeal, they still take one's car away from you, with certainly no way of funding even a runaround, with no savings etc.
- If Claimant decides NOT to appeal and just walk away, car still goes
- However, they give a "Dark Brown Handshake" of up to £2k, which to be frank is abominable, when you consider what level of motor can be got for approx £1k. The rest going to Insurance, likely new tyres to make safe on used cars of this price bracket, breakdown recovery as it will likely be needed for sure.
- Claimant would not be able to rejoin Motability scheme, if eligible for 6 months if I have read right in another topic?
So, they are by default and in true Governomics style, without question and impunity, forcing a vast enough majority into taking said "Golden Handshake", even when the Claimant really should be appealing but cannot do without their transport from the beginning and independence when health allows; nor can they afford to purchase a used vehicle of their own from their own funds, irrespective.
So, when all is said and done - if you are turned down for your PIP application, appeal and are refused at that point then; do you not qualify for the £2k dark brown handshake at that point and thus it can only be offered, accepted or refused at the very beginning of the process of having one's previous DLA claim pulled?
P.S. Nothing circulating about enabling people to keep their vehicles whilst an appeal is being carried out, I take it?
I look forward to your clarifications.
Thanks in Advance.

My best suggestion is that you contact Motability for clarification, it's not an area that we advise on in the forum.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the reply and no worries, I will do; as I wasn't aware it wasn't something that you peeps advise on, apologies.
I was only asking, as I want to make sure I'm fully armed to the teeth info wise, to make sure that whatever way mine goes, I am as fully informed as possible, enabling me to make the correct satisfactory decision going forward.
Thanks in advance.
