Invited to PIP after retirement was created by David
If, after retirement age, you are "invited" to apply for PIP for the first from DLA with standard rate mobility, would a high rate PIP be awarded if the descriptors were fulfilled. And if only a standard rate mobility PIP was awarded even if the criteria was was fulfilled for enhanced rate, would this be the only time that it could be appealed ?

The PIP Transitional Regulations effectively suspend the rule that PIP Mobility cannot be awarded over the age of 64, so a Standard or Enhanced rate award can be made.

If no Enhanced award is made then this would be the only time that it can be appealed.

If no Mobility award is made, then this would also be the only time that it can be appealed.

If a Standard award is made and then removed on a later reassessment then the Standard award can be appealed, but even if you showed that an Enhanced award was justified it could not be award only the Standard one again.
