PIP REVIEW PERIOD

I was awarded PIP standard care and enhanced mobility until December 2018. As we are all aware they usually send the forms a year early. However in a couple of FB groups I've read there was an upper tribunal case regarding this.
It also mentioned descriptor 11. As a nurse I've emailed MPs and DNS and intend to email them as people are being assessed months before the dated award and if downgraded with their care or mobility are losing several months of benefits.
Could anyone clarify this in here as I intended to email Frank Field and local MP and include David Haley Atos whom I've emailed previously.
If they powers that be are fully aware of the case if it's related to reviews and reassessment I wondered if anyone can make it clear to me.
Thanks

There have been several cases in this area.
One confirms the right of the DWP to reassess a PIP claimant at any time and for any reason, so you should expect to be reassessed a year in advance of your current claim ending.
Another is about evidence from a previous claim being considered at Tribunal where the DWP have decided to reassess a claimant without there being a Change of Circumstances.
The latest PIP Claim guide has details of the changes to guidance for the Going Out activity.

Do you have links to both of the upper tribunal cases.
I am going to email my MP and others as it is basically either discrimination that you believe you are awarded until for me personally until December 2018, then to find out I'm maybe assessed in say February 2018 or sooner and lose possibly 10 months.
Surely its some sort of emotional abuse ?
I'm trying to remember all my safeguarding stuff from my nursing background. I was a mentor and distance learning tutor but medication does affect my memory somewhat nowadays.
Thanks again

I've just gone through this myself: I was awarded PIP in 2014, for 3 years, until June 2017; but in June 2016 DWP started their review process which resulted in a decision in August 2016 to stop my payments!
In my case there is a happy ending: I have just had a successful appeal tribunal and the tribunal has not only reversed DWP's decision but increased it from standard to enhanced rate, and for an indefinite period! So presumably I will now eventually get 6 months arrears of payments. But it's still been a long struggle: DWP's system seems to be designed to wear you down so that you give up rather than progressing through the ordeal of the mandatory reconsideration process and an appeal!
Also, I'm fortunate in that despite my disability I am in full-time work, so I've managed to survive without the stopped payment, but for anyone near the breadline who had been relying on it, it could put them into severe hardship. It would be fairer if the payments continued until the final decision, at least as long as that was still within the period of the original award.

I'm terrified to be honest expecting my renewal letter later this year so December 2018 will likely be February 2018 losing several months if I'm awarded it!
Hate the term award its to help work costs.
Thanks so much for your reply
