Hi received a letter at weekend from ato's, regarding my wifes claim for PIP (from indefinite DLA) she has serious mental health problems and has been this way for 10 years, but for the past 4 years she's been "parked" by the NHS,her GP is the only medical body she deals with ( but due to suffering from a major psychotic episode during the last 10 months she's being refered again to someone in the psychiatric team) anyway when I filled the PIP forms in for her the only medical professional I could put was her GP,but I did enclosed old information regarding her diagnosis from past professional's, the letter from ATOS says that they have requested supporting evidence from one or more of the people identified in my wife's care,as I could only put the GP down I presume it will be her they are writing to,my question is do you think they will be checking to see if she's fit for a face to face medical ? And a's we haven't been able to see our gp for a few weeks we haven't been able to tell her about the PIP claim,it's horrendous getting a appointment around here,we see her early March, she's a great GP and knows the problems we have with my wife, there's no way I can contact her about this PIP claim,do you think she will be OK about this and just send the information that ATOS require? Sorry I've gone on a bit

Replied by Gordon on topic PIP requesting future medical evidence

Requests to the GP cover a number of areas.

They may be trying to confirm information in the PIP2 to allow them to carry out a paper assessment.

Or whether you wife can travel to their offices.

Or simply that the information that they have is correct.
