Hi

i went to WCA today ...again... appt 3.30 , called in at 4.15 , was in there 20 mins , she got up and went out with file, came back in , said i can now, you can go home. 4.45pm.

she asked me how long did it take me to walk from the station? i looked at my phone stop watch ...it said 8 mins 59 secs...how did i know? i said i timed it...she asked me why did i time it? I said because i have had 4 assessment and i am always asked that question!

she asked when was i dx , i said 2013 . she asked when was the last time i worked ? I said i left work in 2013. why did i leave work ? ..errhh because i was very ill...i was then referred to a specialist..and i was dx .

what was my job ? i note you are a carer? do you get paid? errrhh no..i care for my husband , i said it is not inco pads , hoists wheelchairs etc kind of caring...it is the other kind...everything else...

i asked for a travel form for travel expenses for both trips have cost £20 should have cost £10 . as i was done in , wanted to get off, i asked to take a form with me...told no you have to fill it in here, company policy.

so after an hour and half in the building , i had 5 mins to complete form, as they were all packing up to go home ...so i didn't bother. surely that cant be right? i have been given a travel form before to take home?

any thoughts on why she cut short the interview, and didnt even ask me to have examination?

Hi rd,

I'm glad that the assessment is over and done with for you.

There are various reasons why the appointment might have been cut short, some of them are positive. All you can do now is wait.

I'm afraid I can't comment about the expenses form as I have no knowledge of the rules regarding this.

Hi Mrs Hurtyback

asked for a copy HCP medical report from WCA last week.

It came quickly in post. Its says no examination was carried out to "avoid causing client further distress "

i didn't feel distressed , i was bloody fed up with having to be there ..again..in pain and carry a heavy heart as a beloved family member had died 3 days earlier, but i didn't mention that .

i was knackered, and she put "client appears fatigued"

then it says in summary " the client was found to meet the criteria for LCW or LCWRA.

so this means now the decision maker gets to decide which one?
im happy with the report , the HCP has been honest and appears to have used my own cover letter with medical evidence to support the report?

feel more confident , if kicked off or put in LCWRA , i will request a MR.

it does recommends a review in the " medium term" any ideas what medium term is please?

will let you know . i so grateful to B&W , amazing site TY .

I'm surprised that they let you have the report, the policy for ESA is not to release the reports until the Decision is made.

ESA Decisions are taking 2-4 week at the moment.

Hi Gordon and Mrs HB

I received my ESA decision letter last Friday. The decision letter date is the 5th April . So thats excactly 3 weeks after WCA.. and you are right, it was odd i got the medical report sent to me a week after WCA and before the decision. So it might be helpful to others to take a chance and ask , in order to get prepared for MR? i clearly had a dwp call centre staff , off her guard and promptly pushed the send button !

So , the decision is I have been placed in the Support Group and meet the criteria and do not have to attend work related activities.

I am ever grateful for your members guides and emails and all the help. It has made this whole difficult , punitive, not fit for purpose debacle of reassessment easier and helped me confident.
I have had both decisions ESA and PIP successful with your help. My husband was an ESA reassessment after 7 yrs in the support group. His decision was made without a WCA either at home or away.

For anyone reading this i would say , ask your hospital to send you all copies of letters to your GP. keep them safe. Keep all appointment letters, write on top of letter, " i attended" or "not attended/cancelled..etc" if you have any old letters , keep them too. My dx was back in 2013, its the only letter that confirms the dx...i have made several copies and kept them.
My husbands illness is so complex, and ongoing and every day is different and he is not going to recover , he will get worse..I sent.. 60/70 ...?..hospital letters, from 5/6 different consultants with his claim! and a cover letter addressed to the dwp decision maker...my mindset was ...you asked for it...so here you are ...and I had in my mind.. if you are going to knock me back..then this is what i want the tribunal to know.
Yes it did take alot of time, it does your head in , its depressing having to focus on your bad days as well as your good days ...so i did it in small bites, i got 2 extensions on time on both, and shut out my anger.

i went to the local library and used their photo copier ...( at least someone is there to help with copier) ...to copy the form and kept original medical letters with it filed /stuffed away together, so in the event of a MR or appeal..they were ready to be copied.

I was polite and courteous in my cover letter, but had it in my mind, the person who makes the decision , the reader of your form and letters ..is not medically qualified in any way..therefore I am telling you and showing you , and backing up my medical condition with the facts. I assumed the medical report from HCP would be fiction!!

The next round of stress is hubby DLA to PIP , he has HR care and HR mob , indefinitely. He also has mobility car atm ...so with the 50K ppl each year losing their cars and HR , I am making the assumption this will be the case for him. Bring it on.

thank you again B&W , you are bloody amazing!
