should I notify PIP about final diagnosis? was created by susiebrown
My disabilities started with prolapsed disc in my lower back which I had 3 operations on unsuccessfully. Until now I have been labelled 'back problems'. Yesterday I went to see rheumatologist who looked over my history and noticed that my blood results showed extreme auto-immune readings and said I have Auto-Immune Thyroid Disease and ordered more in depth blood tests. Further to other pain that I live with he disregarded everything to do with my back and said I have fybromyalgia on top of my spinal problems.
Would informing PIP about the changes help or hinder my award which was in june 2016, when my mobility and care were down graded to standard.

It's not the change in diagnosis that is important but whether your ability to complete the PIP activities has changed?

If they have and your problems are now worse, then the question you need to ask yourself is whether this will result in your scoring sufficient new points to increase your award.

If you report a change then be aware that it will result in a full reassessment of your claim, a new PIP2 and almost certainly a face to face assessment.
