PIP Face to face assements / medicals was created by jenny
Are PIP face to face assessments the same as a medical? I've had a home assessment.

Whilst the DWP like to refer to these as a medical assessment they bear little resemblance to what most people would expect from a medical.
There's a section at the back of the PIP Claim guide that covers the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.
Home assessments are not significantly different from those carried out in the Assessment Providers offices.

PIP f2f assessments are an excersise to shove you into the DWP's predefined activity boxes. Within each box you are scored on your ability to complete the activity. Zero points if you can complete the activity with no problem and then increasing up to a maximum if you cannot complete at all. The assessors job is to score you as near to sucessfully completing the activity as possible, by way of observation ( wearing blinkers ) and question and answers ( Most HP's seem to need hearing aids, which they don't wear ). The HP then submits a report to the DWP ( that Hans Christian Andersen would be proud of ). These people have a job to do, granted, but you have a life to live, and deserve the help you need to be the best you can
