Spring wrote: Just beginning my journey migrating from high rate mobility - low care. Thank goodness there is a forum for help navigating my through this journey. I am very concerned with the manner at which some of these members have been treated and wonder how far I am prepared to go at my age, 68. I wonder whether I would be better of applying for AA before it closes for new claimants 2018. I will be posting my application for pips tomorrow as I have to follow the rules to the letter. Can my pips claim be counted towards AA, if so, how do I go about it. Thank you so much.
Attendance Allowance isn't stopping in 2018!
PIP and AA have different criteria so you would need to start from scratch.
Why don't you wait to see what happens with your PIP claim? Be aware that AA has no mobility component or Lower Rate Care.

You are right, I will follow through the process first and see what happens and take it from there.

Pay special attention to the desciptors for the mobility component. The citeria are different DLA to PIP. As you are over retirement age, the rate of mobility allowance you get now will determine your rate going forward. If you qualify only for the standard rate it will never be increase in the future, even if your mobility needs change.
