Unfamiliar routes presumabnly embraces routes from point A tp B that are not neccesarily completely srtrange to the claimant but less than familiar?
Froma mental health perspective the typical situation would be going soemwhere strange to them such as ( typical example_) a PIP assessment in another town. I presume thouigh that it couild app,l even to unfa, miliar journeys in their home town
What about the issue of givinge xamples. If you ojly ever go to new places so rarely because of overwhelming anxiety how can you give examples of how you are so frequently affected as to justify the descriptor ?

XFACTOR wrote: Thank you Gordan. OK then accepting unfamiliar is meaning effectively not known to the claimant how about the sort of situation they will accept. A typical example therefore would be a trip to the PIP examination centre ina town (or part of a town) unfamiliar to the claimant or an outpatient appointment at a hospital outside of the homw town et c etc. ?
Given today's announcement that the DWP are modifying the Going Out activity so that following a route has to be "for reasons other than psychological distress", my answer may be moot.

It'll be in the news section tomorrow, the amendment applies from 16 March 2017, so will apply to any Decision made on or after that date.
