Hi Guys Gordon
I wonder if you could answer a query it's for a good friend of mine.

My friend is terribly upset she claims CB Esa support group she previously had a pip award of standard daily living which she has just been through the ordeal of a tribunal which she won I asked about so we were chatting about the backpay she would be entitled to.
She is single and living alone

Seems all she gets is £109 support group
I asked her about all the other disability premiums she got apart from her pip apparently she's not entitled to any as she is on contribution Esa she has no other income is there anything she can do about it.
She's missed out on a lot of money this way
can she claim both does she need to tell Esa that she wants to claim both are they not automatically added.
Thanks in advance for any advice x

Many Thanks Cx

If she is eligible then she can receive an Income Related ESA top-up to her ESA(CB), this will enable the payment of any Premiums that she qualifies for. ESA(IR) is dependant on her household income, her savings and assets, and any hours that a partner works. See

Asset rule for ESA(IR)

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

She needs to ask the DWP for an ESA3 form initially.

It may be possible to backdate the Premiums if she can provide information to show that she met the criteria for the Premiums in the past.

Ive just had a look @ the forms she's being sent a Esa3
and a ISO10 as her adviser (forgot she was in contribution based esa.... and could claim the premiums.

I noticed the Esa3 form says when do you want claim from ? Can she claim from the very first time like 13 weeks after her esa claim and was on standard daily living @ the same time, or is it time limited? Thanks so much Gordon

She can claim from the first day that she became eligible for the Premiums.

The IS10 is to claim SDP.
