I know full well my husband cannot follow a route or follow an unfamiliar journey because his Demencia in the form of level 4 Azheimers have effected his short term memory capacity to such an extent he is neither safe do attempt this unable to store names, places and familier or unfamiliar routes to an acceptable and safe level.

Example:

I had to take my hubby for a MRI brain scan last year. I had a call of nature due to my IBS and left him sat in his transit wheelchair for several minutes. During this time hubby apparently became very distressed, really scared and was approached by strangers non of whom he new. They asked him who he was with and he could not remember, nor did he remember were I had gone or how he got to the hospital. This was due to his short term memory loss in th form of his Alzheimer's. Whan I returned a group of nurses and patients were tring to calm his down,I felt awful but he did settle down eventually. The point was, during this episode hubby could not remeber where he was,nor when asked did he have the mental or physical ability to remember were ai had gone to or what direction or route I took that afternoon to the nearest WC..let alone find the hospital himself.

Sorry for the rant, but this type of thing is becoming common now. I just don't know how to put such events properly without help from B&W anymore.
