What's is SDP. ? I saw this in one of the posts, the gentleman living alone gets SDP and so dose his friend.
I would also like to ask if a person who applies for a tribunal hearing has to attended in person or can it go ahead without them being there?.
Do you have to pay for a tribunal hearing .?
Thank you

The Severe Disability Premium is payable to anyone who has a DLA Medium Rate Care award or higher, a PIP Daily Living award or Attendance Allowance AND
They live alone or are considered to be living alone AND
No one claims Carers Allowance for them AND
They are receiving and Income Related benefit such as ESA(IR), Income Support or Pension Credit, but not Universal Credit.
You can ask for a Paper hearing that you do not need to attend but the success rate is a lot lower than one that you do go to.
You do not need to pay for a Tribunal.

Thank you Gordon, I did not know about this benefit , I have been on DLA, medium care , high mobility. No result yet on my pip claim. I live alone and no one claims carers allowance for me.
May be something I could look into at a later date.
