PIP claim and phones? was created by SarisChammah
I recently had the letter through the door telling me I need to claim for PIP as my DLA will be discontinued. I have little problem with this but the letter only gives a phone number to contact and I find it very difficult to use the phone as I am sensitive to noise and cannot concentrate. Am I able to contact them with my details by post to the address at the top of the page?

The letter says I need to provide them with key details but at the end of the list is says "your usual account details" what does this mean?

I recommend that you make the call yourself or get someone to do it for you, you will need to be with them to answer the security questions. Although it is a reasonable adjustment to ask to make a paper claim every member who has done this has had serious problems in getting the forms.

Thank you Gordon. If I cannot find someone to help me I will need to do it myself but protest to them and inform them the stress and pain it caused. I recently got the stupid call from BT that EE customers are getting telling us about BT's acquisition of EE and to ask if I want to switch my landline to BT. That call out me off for days. They are not meant to call me. I use my phone only for Internet and text. I really am in a mess over this.

SarisChammah - I feel your distress; I'm unable to use the phone too and I'm not actually applying for PIP (although I should) entirely due to this. It's disgusting how anything that's not 'seen' can be dismissed and something you have no control over is expected to be put aside until the call is complete.

I would swap my £70 odd a week for my health, the DWP seem to think we love it (being ill).

Good luck.
