hi. I'm new to this site but have recently had a face to face assessment resulting in 0 points. I have been in receipt of pip for the previous 12 months and completed the form stating conditions were worse. I have depression anxiety bipolar and panic attacks for which I was getting high level of care.
I have also got damaged discs and vertebrae in my back along with a bulging disc. also osteoarthritis in feet ankles hips and wrists which I received 0 points 12 months ago and although all these conditions are degenerative I have still received 0 points.
I find it difficult to go out of the house most days and fear seeing people.
I have reviewed my mandatory review and they have given me 2 points in the care category now.
I am going to appeal and would like to ask you people which are the best guides for me to read to help me complete my appeal. I'm finding it very difficult as it seems that because you suffer with mental health issues they assume that you also have to be thick and not be able to understand anything they say or they penalise you.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

Be aware some of the Descriptors have multiple elements and you need to meet all of them to score points.

Finally make sure you have made use of "reliably" and "on the majority of days" wherever appropriate.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
