Appeal tribunal for PIP was created by Lorraine Lancaster
I have been on DLA enhanced rate for the last 12 years & have been very grateful to have a motability car!
I have recently applied for PIP of which I was awarded the standard rate! I have sent off for an appeal, but the DWP cannot process a claim & allow time for an appeal before my current DLA runs out! So my car will be taken away tomorrow before I even have an appeal date! I feel I'm losing my independence , I cannot walk to the nearest bus stop & I can't afford taxis everywhere, so do they expect me to remain housebound??? I understand motability will give me £2000 to buy another car, but it won't be easy finding a car that is suitable for my disability & anyway they don't pay you for 2 weeks after the car goes! It would have been so much easier if they had let me keep the car until the date of the tribunal! I'm more determined now to win this appeal!
I wrote to my local MP, who replied & said he would take this to the government! Then I see on the news this morning that they may scrap PIP & revert to DLA. It will be good if this is sorted before the date of the tribunal, to spare me the stress & anxiety of getting there without transport & going through the appeal!

I am not sure where you have heard this but there are no plans whatsoever to go back to DLA and abandon the PIP benefit!
