OK

The questions are at the beginning of the PIP Claim guide but I would not worry about it, if you hadn't answered sensibly then they would not have allowed your claim.

Can I just check that we are using the same terminology;

The Going Out activity looks at three things.

Planning a route - this is primarily a cognitive or sensory (e.g. blindness) activity. You are being asked about the problems you would have with working out how to get from one place to another, you do not need to be able to follow the route that you are planning. Descriptor (c)

Undertaking a Journey - this is do with mental health issues such as agoraphobia and social anxiety and is concerned with you leaving the house to go somewhere, they will be interested in the things that stop you doing this. You need to show that you would suffer "overwhelming psychological distress" to meet the criteria. Descriptors (b) and (e)

Following a route - the DWP regard this as a cognitive or sensory activity to do with navigating the route, SO are there problems that would prevent you from doing this? This is different from undertaking a journey, in fact if you cannot undertake a journey then you will struggle to score points for following one. Descriptors (d) and (f)/

So the three questions relate to three activities above.

Q13a is asking about help you would need to plan a route.

Q13b is asking about your ability to follow a route

Q13c asks about your ability to undertake a journey.

Under the new rules, if you answer "yes" to Q13c then you are assessing yourself as meeting either (b) or (e) and not (c), (d) or (f).

I'm sorry if it seems like I am pushing you on this but you must also explain why suitable aids would not allow you to overcome these problems, for example the DWP will say that there is no need for you to lift a saucepan; you can fill it using a smaller manageable contained and remove the cooked food using a slotted spoon. It may well be that you problems would prevent you using even these aids but you must explain why or they will assume that they can be used without problem.

The PIP Claim guide has a list or appropriate aids for each activity.
