I'll give you the information for an appeal below, you have one month from the date of the MR letter to make a normal appeal, you can make a Late appeal up to 13 months after the date of the Decision, you will need to explain why the request is late and this may not be accepted.

If you do appeal then you can either have an Oral appeal that you attend or a Paper one that you do not, the success rate for the latter is lower but the stress associated with appealing should be less.

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

Hi Gordon

I put in my appeal as you advised below.

I went to my local C.A.B and together we prepared my case.

The appeal court received my SSCS1 form together with extra evidence from an occupational therapist and social worker supporting the scores they thought i should have received and only 2 weeks later, the DWP sent a letter stating that they had changed their decision and i was awarded PIP enhanced living and mobility until 2021.

Thank you for all your help and advice.

P.S. Last week i finally received the bundle from the DWP with all the information and communication during my PIP case and uncovered an interesting point. It stated in the communication that if i went on with the appeal, only then would they change their decision. i think this is typical of the DWP, playing on claimants weakness!!!! My advice to everyone is please do not give up and fight all the way!!!!
