Hi,
Just wondering if you can help me please. My husband has just received his PIP letter as his current claim is due to expire at the beginning of July. He has to ring them for a form, which I willbe doing on his behalf. Is there anything that I need to be aware of, ie trick questions etc? I feel yhat my husband may struggle getting the result he wants this time round as he is no longerunder the psychiatrists that he was before as there is nothing else they can do for him but he is still on a number of different tablets.
Also reading in the news letter today I noted that people with severe anxiety will not qualify for PIP after 16/3 as the rules are changing? Have I read this correctly?
Also would the claim date be when we request a new form or the date they receive the form backat the DWP?

The PIP Claim explains about the phone call and the questions you will be asked.
The changes in the newsletter do not mean that claimants with severe anxiety will not be awarded PIP, but they may now struggle to get an Enhanced award of Mobility If they do not also have problems with walking.
The claim date is the day that you make the phone call, providing the DWP person you speak to is able to complete the in PIP1 initial claim form while you are on the phone, there's no reason to assume that the won't.

Sorry to interupt this message but can I ask if these changes will affect people who are already on pip? I only got my award a couple of weeks ago and now I am worried again!

Hi
I've now received my husbands claim form for PIP. His claim date is the 3/3, which is good as he should be unaffected by the change which comes into effect 16/3/17.
I must admit though I am very concerned as my husband is no longer seeing anyone for his Mental health issues and hasn't done for possibly a year and a half. The reason for this is that there was little else they could do for him. He still takes all of his medication though for his mental health. And is receiving ESA SG, and has been for the last 3 + years. So I have no supporting evidence that I can send with his claim form. Is he just going to be turned down straight away? He is no better than he was 4 years ago, when he claimed DLA(runs out July 17 hence the PIP claim)
Its just that whole feeling of dread, all over again
Any help and advise would be great

Lots of people are "parked" by the NHS as there is no on-going treatment that they can provide, in fact it's rare for a member to report that they are actually still being seen by the NHS.
Send the evidence that you have and explain why it is still relevant to his conditions and limitations as they are now.
