Medical condition prioritising forced by DWP was created by ChrissieT
Being a sufferer of long term depression and anxiety for which I qualified in 2014 for ESA And more recently being diagnosed with a disabling physical condition I was shocked to be told at my PIP assessment that I had to choose which condition should be listed as the primary condition when clearly the conditions are linked together.
It has been confirmed to me by CAPITA that the instruction to prioritise claimants conditions comes from the DWP.
I feel for anybody with a depression and anxiety condition in the light of today's news about the complete ignorance and insensitivity of the governments spokesman George Freeman.
I'm so fed up of living in pain and poverty while the fat cats treat us like scrounges and wingers. For your information, Mr FReemans, behind our closed doors we are DROWNING, NOT WAVING.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I am not aware of any requirement for claimants to nominate a primary condition, even if that is what Capita have said.

At my assessment the MA insisted on lifting my conditions in Oder of priority and a senior case handler at CAPITA has informed me it is a DWP requirement.
I will be referring this matter to my MP. This business is made no easier by the bickering and blaming I have experienced Between DWP and CAPITA

I was also asked which of my many conditions was my primary one. I said it would depend on which consultant you asked. I also told them that some of my conditions are connected and tried to avoid prioritising them but the HP insisted it had to be done that way, and then told me I was only allowed two main conditions! He did list the others as well but it seems a crazy system.
