pip renewal form received a year early was created by ulleswater
A friend of mine got awarded high rate care and mobility a year ago and was awarded this for two years and has this weekend received a "renewal" pack a year in advance of when it is due. Can anyone shed any light as to why this has happened - could they have sent it by mistake? My friend is now in a terrible state as it has come unexpectedly and is convinced she has had this because someone has reported her. I am sure this is not the case.

Please can someone help with this question as I am very worried about the effect this is having on my friend.

Thank you for taking the time in reading this

I'm afraid nearly all PIP Awards are being reassessed a year in advance of the award ending, it is not a mistake and the must complete and return the form if their award is to continue.

When you're reviewed a year in advance can anyone tell me if they extend if you're successful or does it still stay at original award?

Hi mo and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

A new reassessment date will be set, this will be counted from the date of the new decision.
