I am not entirely sure what you are asking, if it is in regard award lengths, then as they are part of the Decision then the length can be challenged at appeal, but, I have to warn you that I have not seen much, if any, success in doing so.
Whilst award length is primarily a reflection of the conditions that the claimant has and the likelihood or them improving, but it also reflects the possibility of the claimant adapting to their problems
Neither of these may be likely for your son, but I doubt you will persuade the DWP and you may still struggle with an appeal panel.
