Preparing for pip appeal was created by Janallan
Hi I am trying to write some evidence for the tribunal why I should be awarded descriptor e/f for mobility planning and following journey,I have chronic anxiety/ depression etc. I know there's the court ruling that went in favour for an award where anxiety is involved ( and about it being reversed) but could you direct me towards the case number,I am reading some things at the moment but it seems very in depth and hard to follow,is there some simpler things to read up on what I can put forward at tribunal.

The first thing to be aware of is Descriptors (e) and (f) are considered to be mutually exclusive. If you can't leave the house (e), then you cannot be assessed as being unable to follow a route and if you cannot follow a route (f), then you cannot be considered as being unable to leave your house.

So for (e) you need to explain why you cannot eave your house on your own, typically this will be because you suffer from Agoraphobia or Social Anxiety, you need to explain how your conditions manifest themselves when you are asked to go out and how you can overcome this, for example; by being with a trusted purpose.

For (f) you need to show, either that you are cognitively or sensory impaired OR that the effect or your mental health issues are so severe that you cannot navigate the route. So you need to explain the symptoms you experience when you are out and why they prevent you from navigating.
