What time are the assessment centres open until?. My appointment is for 5.00 pm, I thought this was rather late.

Some centres are open late, be aware, if they are running late then there is a possibility they will have to cancel.

At about what time would they cancel? Would they give us plenty of notice?

I'm afraid it may not be until you get there, you might want to ring before you leave, but if you are told that it is cancelled then make a note of the time and the name of the person you have spoken to.

Is it ok for my partner to take notes? Do I need to ask assessor if it is ok for me to do so?

You are entitled to take notes at the assessment, we sometimes hear of assessors saying that this is not the case but the DWP guidance is clear that it is allowed.
