But of course I can't see them giving pip without any medical information?

Maybe in weak cases where they are going to refuse pip they do not bother to contact GP as it would be wasting their money paying for medical evidence.

In two cases, my wifes and my own, we submited no medical or other evidence with our PIP2 forms. Our doctor was not contacted. We were both confident in our cases, having used the information here to complete our PIP2's. We accepted that we would probably have f2f assessments, again, armed with the information here we were prepared. We were both awarded High mobility, standard care.
We may well have been fortunate, but we seldom hear of simple results on the forum. It is very likely that the majority of claims are processed in a straightforward manner and we never hear about them.

You are absolutely right David. It is human nature to complain loudly when things go wrong but to keep quiet when things are OK. This kind of website can give a false impression of things as we do not hear from the many people who have been satisfied with the process and decision.

And did you both have a f2f?

Do you really think they sometimes award pip without any medical evidence? Seems a bit bizarre, unless that person is already getting ESA perhaps?

Were you already getting ESA, as in that case they would have already established the difficulties in the conditions you both have.

This may be one of the cases where the Assessment Provider has sought further information.
