decision letter was created by Dragonlady1
hi,

Many thanks for this great site that was a major help in being placed in wrag in 2013(on appeal).

My question(s) are:-

I got my reassessment form may 2016.I then went to capita medical jan 2017.I got a changes in support allowance rates letter saying moved from wrag to support group last week. When might I get my decision letter so I can start my application for pip? and should I get backpay from may?

thanks again for any advice.

If you have a letter saying you have been moved from the WRAG to the SG then that is most likely the Decision Letter, so congratulations.

You do mention an assessment with Capita, do you mean Maximus? Capita only do PIP assessments!

PIP and ESA are separate benefits, there is no need to wait for an ESA Decision before you apply for PIP, at best your ESA award will only provide limited support for a PIP one.

As this appears to a reassessment initiated by the DWP, the Decision applies from the date it was made so I'm afraid there would be no back pay.

Thanks for reply,

I did indeed mean maximus

The letter makes no mention of what points I was awarded and for what also It makes no mention of how long the award is for.

It is just a letter saying changes in esa rates payable
this is because of a decision of your capability for work.you have been moved from wrag to support group.

should I write to dwp and ask for the reasons they came to their decision?
the reason I would like to know is if I got 15 points for mobility moving less than 50 yards would that not be evidence to pip for 8 points score on mobility?

Entry to the SG is not points based and ESA is classed as an indefinite award with regular reassessment so their is no end date that can be included on the latter.

If you ask for a copy of your ESA85 assessment report it should give you an indication of why the award was made.
