Pip form deadline was created by scarlet harry
Hi, I made the call to apply for pip on 21/2 ( was on dla indefinitely)i was told On the phone that I would have 40 days from the date the form was posted by them to return the completed form to them
I did not receive the form until the 4/3 and the deadline to return it was written on the form as 22/3 This has left me with only 2 weeks to complete ( leaving a few days for postage)
Is this normal? I am struggling to complete as I get fatigued easily due to my medical condition
Should I call them to complain or will that annoy them and affect my claim?
Thanks

Hi scarlet harry,

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Claimants are allowed 4 weeks to complete the PIP form - but this includes postage in both directions. DWP usually give a 2 week extension on request, just phone and ask them.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Called dwp today as I have not heard anything since sending off pip form. Told them if I am to get a medical I intend to record it, was then told it was up to each individual assessor whether they would allow this. Is this right? Can they refuse?

If you want to record your PIP assessment then you will need to contact the Assessment Provider for your postcode, rather than the DWP, preferably in writing.

You need to be able to simultaneous record to tape or CD, you cannot make a digital recording.

Permission does hinge on an assessor agreeing to be recorded but the AP should make reasonable efforts to facilitate this.

You do not have a legal right to require the assessment is recorded and the DWP have stated that facilities being unavailable or unusable on the day will not be accepted as Good Cause for failing to participate on the day.
