Advice on mobility car. was created by Houdini
Hi guys, just joined and need advice.
Have received the letter inviting me to apply for PIP. ( currently have gigh rate for both parts... indefinitely)
A few weeks ago I chose a new car on the scheme. Its due at the dealers in about 10 / 12 days.
Do i cancel the order and wait to see if I'm eligible for the high rate again. ?
Doesn't seem right signing for the car nd then could be refused te much needed high rate.
Thanks in advance.
Tilly

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Whilst I understand your concerns this really isn't a decision that we can help you make.
Yes, the criteria for PIP are more severe than for DLA and as a result many claimants are receiving reduced or even no award at all, but whether you should take account of this is a something that only you can decide.

Many members report the whole process being completed in a couple of months - but others have experienced considerable delays.

Ah right, thank you Mrs Hurtyback. I think ill sign for the car then it arrives as mine is a little overdue to go back.
Ill keep my fingers crossed for a good result from the DWP... Im housebound without the car.
