ESA / DLA and Occupational Pension was created by toulane55
Hi, I am in receipt of ESA and DLA high rate care component. I also receive an occupational pension. I don't get any ESA deductions regarding my pension because I receive the higher rate care component of DLA. However, I have just received a letter requesting information on any pension increase I may be getting in April??, why would this be? I did ring but the clerk didn't seem to know what I was talking about and said that they needed the info to adjust the ESA ? I'm confused, any explanations or links explaining this will be very much appreciated.
Many thanks.

I assume that your pension was disregarded when you were receiving Incapacity Benefit?
Even though the pension may still be disregarded under ESA, the DWP are entitled to ask for information about what you are receiving, so you need to provide the details to them. A failure to do so could result in your ESA payments being suspended until the matter is resolved.
