Hi All, As Sorrell says, as he/she has just gone through DLA-PIP transfer, after original ESA group award, is it possible that when ESA came up for renewal, DWP did paper based ESA re-assessment using original info together with any results of any PIP claim/award?

The only factor that would go against this train of thought is that 'new' awards are for 2 years where maximum is 3 years!

Wish that could have happened to me since I had 2 assessments only 28 months apart! The only upside to this is that I've been told that I won't be asked for anymore since I'll have reached retirement age before I'm next due lol

Just think yourselves lucky that you don't have go through all that stress again for a bit longer.

I'd be a bit wary of ringing the DWP after the date of reassessment had passed, as I would be worried that if that they had made a mistake that they would seek to rectify it!

However, I suppose that the only way to know and to stop worrying would be to brazen it out and ring and ask.

The other thing that springs to mind is the recent green paper that proposes Support group people being made to do Wfis, and whether any deferments have something to do with these proposals. So even if you get an extension, at some point westill have this hanging over our heads.

Yep and at the same time a paper saying those who are not going to get better in certain groups/factors will not face assessments, so all in all none the wiser.

I too was due for a re assessment Oct 2016 - I am in the SG ESA, as stated from DWP, so I am still waiting for the envelope to plop, sorry thud on the doormat.
I too have to weigh up whether or not to bite the bullet and ask when is it going to happen, or just wait and hope they forget, chance would be a fine thing, for the thud on the mat.

I did receive a letter the other day, re the annual upgrade of my small pension I receive. DWP wanting to know if I have received the paperwork from the company and if not to sign and complete the form for when it comes later for my ESA. So whether or not tis the same dept or not, one can only guess.
They stupidly ask for this each year, demanding a reply within 2 weeks, sent at least 4 weeks before Herts C. C produce such paperwork. I remind them of this each year, but to no avail, in fact the DWP send the letter earlier and earlier each year.

I read a while that Maximus were struggling to recruit and retain enough HCP's in some areas to conduct the WCA but i've no idea to what extent it's a problem. However It would be great if Maximus are now struggling as much as Atos were .
