Epilepsy was created by Maxxi
Hi. I am new here, I have epilepsy after having 3 strokes my last stroke being 2014 and fit 2-3 times a week which are drop seizures, I get no warning. When completing the forms do I concentrate on epilepsy being the norm and how do they assess some one with epilepsy?

Thanks.

What benefit is it? PIP and ESA handle this differently, also if PIP do you have an existing DLA award?

Hi Gordon

I am currently on higher rate for both on DLA indefinite so I am currently waiting for that brown envelope telling me to change to PIP, I am also on ESA. I just want to be prepared.

Thanks

OK. For ESA there is a specific activity that covers Epilepsy and you may also be able to claim under the Substantial Risk provisions.

PIP does not consider Epilepsy directly, you will need to argue that you need supervision for certain PIP activities such as Preparing Food and Washing and Bathing.

See the relevant claim guides for more details.
