I can well understand the DWP becoming highly suspicious of a claim involving being unable to walk and the keeping of an Alsatian if it belongs to a single person making that claim. I couldn't however believe there could be any suspicion attached to that same person living with a family with that pet being tended to by others. I would imagine you could keep a small dog and not be able walk without issue if there was a door with garden for it to wander in and out by itself.
